Conforms with Applicable Standards of:
Council Directive 89/336/EEC as amended by 92/31/EEC (EMC Directive)
Council Directive 73/23/EEC as amended by 93/68/EEC (LVD Directive)

EMC
EN 61326:1998 — Electrical Equipment for Measurement, Control and Laboratory Use – EMC Requirements

LVD
EN 61010-1:2001 — requires a limited-energy power supply per Article 9.3. The KD-2446 does not use or switch voltages above 60 VDC or 42.4 VAC peak (30 VAC rms).

Options

Sensor Cables

In-line cable connector splice
Many sensors come with integral sensor cables. Routing this cable in some applications is difficult and something you only want to do once. An in-line connector splice near the sensor allows for easy sensor replacement should the need arise.

Hermetic in-line connector splice
Some applications pass the sensor through a pressure boundary, most commonly a vacuum chamber wall. An in-line hermetic bulkhead splice is available for these applications.

Accessories

Cables, mounting hardware, calibration tools, and replacement parts are available. Accessories data sheet (PDF).

Frequently Asked Questions

What target materials can the KD-2446 measure?

The KD-2446 works with both ferrous and non-ferrous targets, including aluminum, 304 stainless steel, and 4130 magnetic steels. The usable range depends on the sensor (9C or 5CM) and target material.

What resolution does the KD-2446 achieve?

Static resolution reaches 12 microinches — better than 0.008% of the measuring range using a 5CM sensor on a 4130 steel target at mid-scale, mid-gain, and 12 Vdc input.

Can the KD-2446 be used for process control?

Yes. It provides a high-speed (10 KHz) level-adjustable switched output with very low hysteresis (under 1% on ferrous targets), designed for process-control applications.
